Last year, Angelica was working hard as a cook, but her salary was not enough to make ends meet. Then she entered a Pharmacy Tech program at Jefferson State Community College, a collaborative initiative supported by The Women’s Fund.

After passing her national certification exam on the first try, Angelica landed a full time job as a pharmacy technician at Wal-Mart.

Her salary increased 30 percent.

Her success has improved her sons’ lives too. Her eldest son earned all A’s at Phillips Academy and Angelica can now afford for him to play sports. Her baby is thriving at quality childcare provided by Head Start.

Angelica even overcame a housing crisis that landed her family in a shelter during part of the year. Now her family has a safe place of their own.

Will you make a gift to support more moms like Angelica and initiatives like this?

These collaborative, two-generation initiatives provide tuition, fees, transportation costs, and critical wrap-around services such as career coaching to single mothers in Greater Birmingham. The women attend post-secondary courses in high-demand fields while their children attend quality, educational childcare.

Your gift is crucial in helping women move forward… and when women move forward, the entire community moves with them.

Please give today. Thank you.
