Are you accelerating economic opportunity for women?

Our 2020 Grant Cycle is now open!

The Women’s Fund will consider proposals for programs and public policy advocacy that promote women’s economic opportunity.

If your organization is considering applying, please review the Request for Proposals (RFP) carefully as it has changed from previous years.

Founded in 1996, The Women’s Fund is a change-making philanthropic organization that accelerates economic opportunity for women across Alabama through philanthropy, research, and advocacy. The Women’s Fund is the state’s first and only foundation strategically investing using a gender lens.

Since 2013, we have invested more than $1.1 million in 2Gen collaboratives aimed at interrupting the cycle of generational poverty.

What We Fund

The Women’s Fund will consider proposals for programs and public policy advocacy that promote women’s economic opportunity. We will invest in the following:

  • Programs that use a two-generation approach to create opportunities for entire families by integrating services for women and their children.
  • Public policy initiatives that focus on state or local systems-level change, including regulatory change, to address at least one core-component of a two-generation approach.
